ASA Cruising Boat Courses in Berkeley!
Inspire Sailing is partnering with Modern Sailing to offer ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing and ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising courses in Berkeley!
As in Sausalito, these courses are taught on our Catalina 30 vessels with wheel helms and inboard diesel engines.
Inspire Sailing will continue to offer US Sailing Basic Keelboat and Basic Cruising courses, which are taught on our fleet of J24s.
The Catalina 30-based “Cruising Boat” program offers a Berkeley-based complement to the exciting sport boat program available at Inspire Sailing.
The benefits of partnering with Modern Sailing to deliver an ASA cruising-boat focused curriculum for the recreational sailor are:

If you are a club member at Inspire Sailing or Modern Sailing and take one or more ASA courses in Berkeley, you will automatically receive a complimentary upgrade to Dual Site Membership for six months. Upon completing ASA 103, you will be qualified to bareboat charter Silver Fleet boats at the location where you took the course.
NOTE: Docking and sailing conditions at the Sausalito and Berkeley locations are very different. You will need to be prepared for and certified for both environments. To bareboat charter at the location where you did not take ASA 103, you will be required to complete a Fleet Certification Check-out (Sausalito) or an Evaluation Sail (Berkeley).
