Introduction to J/24

Did you learn to sail on a wheeled boat? Have you always wondered how exciting it would be to blast across the San Francisco Bay on a responsive, nimble, tiller-steered sport boat?

In our Introduction to J/24 clinic, we’ll spend a half-day aboard a J/24 and show you the ropes!

The J/24 is one of the most widely-manufactured and most popular sailboats in the world, with over 5,500 J/24 sailboats built and over 50,000 people actively sailing in more than 150 fleets in over 40 countries. Amazing!

The J/24 has a hearty pedigree of one-design racing (think: NASCAR). It is sporty and provides instant feedback, which makes learning to sail the boat fun and fast! It has the stability, rig, and sail controls to handle the strong 15-20 knot winds typical in the San Francisco Bay.

We encourage you to come experience one yourself!

This clinic is meant to be an “introduction.” If you have a good time (we’re sure you will) and you want to pursue charter privileges, there is a separate charter certification process we’ll review with you.

Price: $125 (Members)

Time: 10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm

Sound like fun? You bet it is! Click here to start the enrollment process.

The J24 is low-profile and can get pretty exciting! But don’t worry, she’s got 950 pounds of lead in the keel (and the boat only weighs 3,100 pounds in total).
