Racing Program Off to Great Start!

Last weekend, Inspire Sailing had a great first Berkeley Yacht Club Chowder Race aboard the J105 “Nirvana”!

We had a lovely 10 knots of breeze and were the third boat across the finish line! Key highlights included a couple of tough calls for our tactician with light and shifty winds at the start, some tricky reaching legs, and a quick series of tacks up the south entrance to the finish. In the end, excellent crew work by the Inspire Sailing team, some of whom were sailing under spinnaker for the first time, made it a memorable and successful Sunday!

We have a few spots left in our upcoming Chowder races. These races are for sailors looking to give racing a try, or for those with racing experience interested in practicing their skills with a race coach. Call the office to book a spot at (510)-831-1800.

Are you looking for a more advanced racing opportunity?

Join our J105 team in the BYC Midwinters Sunday Series! The first race is December 12th.

Racers are asked to sign up for all three Sunday to maximize our improvement as a team. The dates are 12/12, 01/09, and 2/13.

This series is for sailors that have a minimum of BC certification and have prior racing and spinnaker experience. The focus will be to go beyond the basics and improve our performance sail trim, boat handling, and crew work with a race coach.
