Announcing Clinics and Courses!
With Checkouts and Charters well underway at Inspire Sailing, we are now ready to announce our first Clinics and Courses!
“Upgrade to Silver” Clinic
NEW! If you are a skipper of Sport Boats < 30’ (e.g., J24 skipper) and would like to take advantage of the Silver Fleet (30’-32’) offerings at both Inspire Sailing and Modern Sailing, we have the clinic for you!
We are pleased to announce our 2-day weekend clinic “Upgrade to Silver.” You’ll learn how to sail and maneuver a Catalina 30’ (or 32’). The Catalina has an inboard engine, wheeled steering, furling jib, self-tailing winches, and a cabin that you can stand up in!
Clinics will be available at both Inspire Sailing and Modern Sailing.
Sailing Courses
We are excited to launch our formal sailing education program in August. We have currently two courses on the calendar, with a lot more to come as we ramp.
Basic Keelboat
Basic Keelboat (BK) is designed for people with little or no sailing experience. We’ll teach you how to rig, sail, maneuver, and crew on the J24.
4-day course
Sat 8/14, Sun 8/15, Sat 8/21, Sun 8/22
9:00am – 4:00pm each day
Basic Cruising
In Basic Cruising (BC) we’ll expand on your BK skills and teach you how to skipper the boat safely around the Bay (and in the Marina) so you’ll be ready to charter! We’ll also teach you basic seamanship skills like navigation, rules of the road, and emergency preparedness.
4-day course
Sat 8/14, Sun 8/15, Sat 8/21, Sun 8/22
10:00am – 5:00pm each day
These courses will be taught on the sporty J24 tiller-steered boat with a maximum of 3 students and 1 instructor on board, so you’ll get lots of “tiller time” and personal instruction.
