If you did not certify through a course at Inspire Sailing, you will have to do a “checkout sail” before skippering a charter. Formally known as an Evaluation Sail, these short sails are with you, an instructor, and a couple of other members. To OCSC alumni, these may look similar to a “bay review.”

Has it been a while since you’ve skippered a sailboat out of Berkeley? Do you want to practice before scheduling an Evaluation Sail? No problem! We’ve all had to brush the dust off a bit! And now you’re in luck! We’re offering $50 off our small boat and big boat Development Sails - these full day clinics will help you get your sea legs and skipper skills back! You can do as many of these as you like, and then once you’re comfortable, you can schedule the Evaluation Sail and get chartering!

Of course, as a member, you also have access to our Crew List and our Club Sails. These are both great tools to get yourself back in action on the water!
